I do quite a lot the thing where I'll leave a message without answering, even though I'm still answering elsewhere or posting here.

it's not personal, and I don't intend to come across as if I'm ignoring anyone... I usually do it with conversations that I'd like to dedicate more attention to, but I'm unavailable for that at that moment

@kitten I do that, too, hence the "social interactions run on vancian spellcasting rules" line in my bio.

(Which means that I have cantrips [stuff I can do near limitless], and a limited number of spell slots from rank 1 to 9. And if I'm out of sufficiently high rank slots for an action, I have to wait until I regenerate those slots.)
