so, new think to work on in my tracking stuff, specifically on my phone's screen on stats

basically, I have my phone scheduled to automatically poweroff at 01:30 and power itself on again at 07:00. the thing is, when it shuts down, the screen turns on to display the boot animation. and that records a "screen on" event. but it doesn't record a "screen off" event because, obviously, the phone is already powered off by then

@kitten Can you also record the power off signal, and filter the "screen on" based on that (e.g. if it happens within N seconds after the power off signal)? neocat_think

@airtower yeah I thought about that, I'll check if I can query that data. it feels a bit "hacky", but I guess that'll have to do

@kitten The clean solution would be not to send the "screen on" during shutdown, but I don't know if that's an option with your phone OS.

@airtower sadly nope, that's something Android handles by itself

tbh I'd even prefer if it didn't actually turn the screen on at all when that's happening. like, it also vibrates, and that can happen while I'm already sleeping, which isn't that convenient considering my phone is besides me at bed
