in a bit I'll do my leveling test to start at the school of languages. hopefully it will place me on an A2 level, so I can jump the A1 one

my idea is to sign up to the 1+1 days a week course, which would take until June. although it is tempting to try the more intense 4 days a week one so I could finish already on January... but it feels like too much, and I'd have to figure out how to do that while working

hmm, I found a language school where I could do the A2 level for two in-person days a week and finish in January :neocat_think: tempting

but at the same time, I worry about it maybe being too much

also, I'd have to pass an additional, more thorough leveling test :neocat_laugh_sweat:

aaaand also, it's 3 times more expensive... which is a bit :neocat_think:

I don't mind investing money on this stuff, but...

I'm happy to announce that I've added to this the concern about how maybe the other language school might have a higher level overall (it's the Goethe Institut after all)

I guess maybe I could just stay in the EOI for the A2 level, and if I want something better, do that for higher levels

besides, the Goethe courses are also open from January, so if I manage to climb to B1 level (combining the EOI with learning by my own) maybe I could jump to that directly

that last option would also allow me to see if 1 day a week is already enough for me and if 2 days would be too much

@kitten the most important thing i’m trying to teach myself these days is that I Have Time and that I shouldn’t rush things, as that heavily impacts my mental health. applies both for everyday life and long-term plans

I don’t know whether this is any helpful to you, but: remember your MH impact when making a decision (huuug)

@kitten Well if you're kinda committed to it you can definitely do it. Also as a bonus you get to watch a bunch of German children TV shows. Was told by others that that is the fastest way to get there.
(Also as you're a little Kitten you get the feeling of learning a language without knowing the words like when you were little all over again. So you may even like it and then you'll by far exceed "just two days per week" for sure :) )
