AFAIK the appview will fetch posts (from the firehose) and labels (from the labelers that the end user + appview operator specifies) and will combine the information before returning it to the client. the client then acts on labels as necessary, eg hiding the post from the feed or whatever

re: bluesky, sassy @kitten the promise from bluesky (and why i said "at least for now") is that they will only censor posts at the appview level (that is, prevent the posts from being returned by their appview) in cases where the content is illegal to host or distribute, such as for CSAM
