the fine line between advocating for kink not being necessarily sexual, and advocating for "sexuality" encompassing a broader definition beyond the normative one

kink it is not necessarily sexual for me to have an owner who guides and disciplines me, and it's still part of my sexuality that I enjoy that

or maybe it
is sexual anyway :neocat_think:

kink, piss pissing myself makes me horny so I guess that's sexual, but at the same time it's also just sensorially extremely comforting and stress-relieving and it creates certain happy thoughts in my mind, so I guess it can also not be

kink to be fair I definitely consider it sexual, the same way I do desiring an owner to look up to, I apply the non-normative definition of that.

but part of the thing is that people tend to jump to certain undesired assumptions when they classify something as sexual (especially with unknown kinky stuff), which makes it a bit less practical to use that word for some stuff

kink @kitten i think the revelation is that when people say 'sexual' in a derogatory way, they really mean 'sexual in a predatory, masculine fashion'.

because honestly, what motives and conceptual themes do the whole 'kink is sexual' and 'does kink belong in sfw spaces' debates portray?

it's always the fear of kink 'being forced on' others.
nonconsensual voyeurism, some creepy guy getting off to outsiders or kids being forced to watch, and such.

which is
suspiciously close to typical male behaviour like catcalling.

they're not really afraid of kink being sexual per se, they're really afraid of kink being sexual in a predatory fashion. they're afraid of disgusting men in public acting like disgusting men in public
but with kink themes.

kink @kitten in another angle though, i really can't define the difference between "gays kissing in public are disgusting, i don't want to see that in public, they should stick to their bedroom, they force their lifestyle onto me" and the "kink doesnt belong in public, it's disgusting, they should stick to their bedroom, don't involve the public in your kink".

Like, they're the same argument. You think it's disgusting, you think potential perception equals involvement, so you want to ban it from the public.

I wonder if there's homophobes out there using 'progressive' phrasing like "I didn't consent to watching gays kiss, they're nonconsensually involving me in their relationship".
