after badgering QA a lot, I just got a "blanket approval for whatever it's needed to make this work so we can test it once and for all"

@rachaelspooky yes, with a QA engineer assigned full-time to us

this is the first job I've had where they took QA seriously and I must say it makes life so much easier and our work a lot better
