@kitten well with someone as intransparent as Eurostar I'm not that surprised. In some cases there are arrangements where different companies have different quotas (for example, Alleo trains, so the Paris-Germany ICEs and TGVs, have separate SNCF and DB quotas), Raileurope is an SNCF daughter and will probably sell their quota, I have no idea how Happy Rail is accessing their tickets but probably not through SNCF

@lis interesting... good to know, but at the same time, one of the things I liked about train travel is not having to deal with that kind of "looking for the best place to get tickets from" shenanigans...

@kitten you're talking to the girl who recently crossed Czechia on a combination of one ČD ticket, one IDS JMK single ticket, one ČD regional day ticket, one Regiojet standard ticket, and one DÚK day ticket, because it was the optimal ticket combination for my trip neocat_up

@lis but like, you knew where to get each of those tickets from the beginning, didn't you? you didn't have to go comparing a bunch of places to get the same thing

@kitten that's true, yes. But for me, from Austria, booking a DB Saver fare through Austria and on to wherever I want to go can be less expensive than booking an Austrian international fare even though I have a ticket for all of Austria neocat_woozy
