TLD musings; re: domain hoarding
Current set of options seems to be:
- .eu
- .nl
- .org
I really like .net … but this one feels to much dependent on USA companies.
When it comes to .de: cheap and easy to get. But don't really love the association with germany for this "project".
Any other ideas for TLDs that aren't feeling too much like USA based infrastructure, won't break the bank, aren't country coded (especially from countries i don't like), and have somewhat decent whois privacy defaults for individuals?
Regarding privacy:
- .de leaks about nothing without having a good reason
- .fi does the about same (but is kinda expensive)
- .nl and .eu both "leak" a contact email address, which is acceptable
