re: privilege, untrained staff miss @hypha, mx @kitten, this seems to be unofficial and just done by the staff member there. this one has had very mixed results, being refused at Gare de l'Est and being let in at Gare du Nord with more or less the same documentation (a first class ticket Barcelona -> Gare de Lyon, and a 2nd class Interrail pass for the rest of the trip.)

if it has the email from the kiosk machine (at an sncf station) it may check if it mentions the Grand Voyageur lounge, which is the case for me so i can argue i’m rightfully entitled to lounge access
but last time i went i just did a full psyop because i was self gaslighted of having the right with a sole internal pass (spoiler, no ^^’)

however you can enter the lounge with a seat reservation although it isn’t written on the ticket (and the qr code doesn’t entitle you either)
it is written at the bottom of the email you receive when booking the seat reservation at the kiosk (in a big train station, at the reisenzentrum)
and you have to do some chatting with the staff to make them understand your rights

note: idk if you need a 1st seat reservation or any seat reservation
