I didn't realize how it now feels surprising to see, like, my actual name written here :blobcatgiggle:

it is nice to hear it, especially the short version since almost no one in my irl life uses it, it's just that I'm at that point where most people just call me "kitten"

it also feels weird because I don't have it anywhere in my profile anymore, other than my instance domain name

but... yeah. for those new around here, I'm Elizabeth. or Elise for short.

one guy at work called me "Eli" the other day and it was a lighthearted "wait, since when are we on shortname terms? also you just picked the one you saw fit huh"

@kitten I saw hated the way how almost everyone abbreviated my deadname and the issue is that you don't really get a choice in it. Nowadays it's however a bit... notable? that NOBODY abbreviates my chosen name, so there is that.

I guess the point us that if its longer than two syllables, it will be abbreviated to one. πŸ˜‰

Unless your real name is piss kitten. πŸ˜‰

@kitten Actually scratch that last part: β€œPiss Kitten” has two syllables, since the β€œe” is silent, making it an example for a typical non-abbreviated name. πŸ˜‰
