Whenever I show photos of my @kitten with my feet to people, the response is always the same: how incredibly calm and happy they seem, how wholesome it seems, how much serenity there is in their expression. Not just for their profile picture but also for other photos from similar situations.And it’s absolutely true. Every time we do our foot care ritual, I get to see this wonderful expression on their face. Every time they ask me for permission to rub my feet in their face, I get to see this calm and deep happiness beneath my feet. In a way, I can see where this is coming from, given that I also appreciate feet (including the ones of my kitten^^) a lot. But this still feels a lot deeper than just someone deriving happiness from a part of my body. I think we’ve managed to encapsulate the essence of our dynamic in our highly ritualized foot care, the physical aspects, yes, but also the power and obedience, the service and appreciation. There is a lot more behind that face than merely someone licking feet - it’s fascinating to realize what we have managed to create
