the nice thing about having 6 hours changeover time for my eurostar (i will explain why later) is, we can be stuck as long as we want in the tunnel after aachen that it doesn’t matter, that’s even a good thing actually!
it means less waiting time in brussels zuid itself
alright chat, made it to brussels zuid
time for food, but also time for whatever i want
the question everyone is asking themselves is: why do you have 6 hours changeover?
so, initially booked the eurostar and decided to be lean for going to brussels (i’ve did this route several times)
when i looked at the routes, i saw something i don’t like: compulsory seat reservations for crossing the border (fuck borders)
and the one route with the shortest-waiting-time-but-eurostar-compatible changeover was fully booked
this left me with the 2h earlier route
THEN, on top of this my eurostar got cancelled and i had to book (for free, fast and easy) for a later 1 hour later
when adding this up, that’s how i have 6 hours changeover lol
