slice of home improvement There is this ~209cm wooden board that wants to be attached to the ~211cm wide wall thingy.

I've carefully measured, weighed pros and cons, decided on 4 equidistant supports with half of that distance to both of the neighbouring walls, marked the sports, checked with the electricity & metal testing thingy …

and pretty much exactly under the 4th tested spot runs electric wiring!
dragn_angry

So, after being angry for a bit and redoing the calculations and judging of arguments, i've now decided on six supports, equidistant to each other, but only ~11cm to each side of the wall.
Lost the motivation, so will mark and test those tomorrow.

slice of home improvement This process has, so far, used:
two sheets of lightly used A4 paper
some packaging tape
a reasonable amount of measuring tools
a calculator
a few metres of pink yarn
about 2 metres of toilet paper
the electricity checking thingy

I furthermore want to state that, despite accusations, i'm not engineering a new storage solution for my living place.

slice of home improvement @nekorvidae are you referring to a multimeter? :blobcatgiggle:

re: slice of home improvement @kitten no, i've got one of those … but i used the "slowly wave it front of the wall and when the light is green, you're happy, but when the light turns yellow and red, you don't want to drill there" thingies made for this purpose

It doesn't directly show voltage, amperage, resistance, etc., so it definitely doesn't qualify as multimeter. Doesn't even have the usual probes.

re: silly, re: slice of home improvement @kitten seems the manufacturer is boring and just calls it "detector" neofox_floof_sad

"beeping early warning thingy against drilling in your pipes or electric wires" would've been nicer!
