every time I see something in french I can't help think about all the Spanish nationalists who insist on how Catalan is "just a dialect", and how confident they are that if that were the case, it'd be a Spanish dialect

@kitten As a Canadian who primarily speaks English and was forced to learn French to like a third-grader level, Catalan is more readable to me than both French and Spanish, but also feels a lot closer to French than to Spanish.
