@kitten i would be interested in measuring the battery voltage with a (dummy) load/resistor attached. would assume it would crumble, given that changing the battery indicates that it was the battery.
@kitten did you measure the voltage under load? because without load the only current that flows is the one used for measuring, which is tiny, so the voltage can be higher :3
(not sure if this is just a resistive effect, so wouldn't matter at small currents (like in watches) or if it's some other effect in the battery... which could still exist at small currents)
