complaining about fedi culture a bit, i guess @kitten ngl i just. don't like emoji reactions and im tempted to make a chuckya patch to convert reactions to favorites on a per user basis (some of my instance users wanted reactions, but i dont myself). like just favorite my post, don't react with some ugly ass stretched pregnant neocat wrench heart emote. what the fuck is that supposed to mean? how do i interpret that? just use a favorite!

re: complaining about fedi culture a bit, i guess @pearl @kitten thatโ€™s just a sharkey thing i think. they donโ€™t have favorites at all, only emoji reactions. if they do the โค๏ธ emoji reaction it gets converted to favorite when federating to Akkoma (and chuckya?), but anything else stays as is including emoji that the user sets as the default โ€œlikeโ€ emoji reaction for themself. but โค๏ธ (or even โญ) is still not the same as a favorite, and since no emoji reaction is able to express the full range of what a favorite can say, sharkey users would often feel the need to use a variety of them, and develop a taste for it (usually bad taste as you can see)
