@kitten yeah, but … we can declare the change online and after it is checked, get stickers in the mail and update the chip via NFC. So no new card. (can also do that in-person, of course)

@kitten yeah, official stickers with the new address (with forgery-proof stuff on them) and stick them onto the ID card.

@kitten @nekorvidae the thing is, German ID cards cost a ton of money (46€) and take 2 weeks or more to produce. It’s not like in Spain where you can renew it cheaply or change your data free and take it home immediately…

@kitten while there are a lot of rules about photos in id cards, you do then have the chance to make the picture more reflective of your current standing in the world
