Schengen is one of the coolest most important things achieved on a European level

but it meaning one doesn't get passport stamps anymore.... it's sad

zeichenreihe @zeichenreihe@blobfox.coffee

@kitten what if city offices would still give them out if you ask nicely :3c

pathetic piss kitten @kitten@elizabeth.cat

@zeichenreihe that'd be nice!

Aimee @aimeeble@tech.lgbt

@kitten the lack of stamps really is sad

Many years ago, I was able to get a stamp returning to my own country (normally they don't stamp citizens); getting it made me very not-sad

pathetic piss kitten @kitten@elizabeth.cat

@aimeeble I've heard of instances of people getting stamps if asking for them, yes :blobcatgiggle:

but yeah, you depend on having good luck

@kitten Well getting out of Schengen Area isn't that hard though, like UK never was in Schengen, most of ex-Yugoslavia isn't, …

pathetic piss kitten @kitten@elizabeth.cat

@lanodan yes but those are places further away and thus less likely to be visited in a way... France i could go visit for the day in a commuter train

Haelwenn /элвэн/

@lanodan@queer.hacktivis.me

@kitten Yeah, of course that depends on where you are, like from Brittany I can take a ferry to UK, Ireland, Spain.
Spain outside of length of trip is same as visiting one of the islands of Brittany, while UK means border-control with airport-like security.
And Ireland I forgot I was 5 years old only time I went there.

@kitten don't worry, we're in the process of dissolving it again
