so, rail question:

the other day we did the Barcelona - Valence - Mulhouse interrail trip in which the first train was super delayed so we didn't make the connection and were put on a later train.

I made a claim to get our compensation for the first leg of the trip, since it was more than 2h delayed, SNCF is giving us back the 50% of the cost, that is good.

now, have I the right to get anything for the second leg? we were put on a train later so we were able to reach our destination. but afaik, I paid for a
seat reservation, and since it was a different, complete train, I didn't get a seat, and thus wasn't provided the actual service I paid for, at all. I only got the transport to my destination, but that could be argued as paid by the interrail ticket

@kitten well, interrail does give refunds of 12 euro for a delay between 1 and 2 hours and 24 euro for 2 hours or more
but in that case i have no idea how you managed to get a refund directly from the operator..

@pietrek oh, the refund from the operator was for the cost of the seat reservation. I will additionally file a claim for those 12€ to interrail, I haven't done that yet, but it'd be independent
