and you know the one thing that is very useful there? a ring/silent mode slider on the side of the phone. I can locate it easily, just by touch with one hand, without having to even look at it. I know which direction is silent mode, so I know I'll be setting it to silent without needing confirmation, the slider itself will be the confirmation. it's also idempotent, so I don't need to worry about "pressing it twice, reengaging the sound mode" or anything.

so, yeah, more manufacturers should keep that in their phones. phones should be sex-friendly in general

mentions lewd Fairphone 6 added it, so I guess I know which will be my next phone when this one gets old enough

other manufacturers seem to be more keen on just adding a "multifunction button". I guess I could just use that and set it to an idempotent "enable silent mode, always". I've never been in a situation where I needed to disengage it without looking at my phone

mentions lewd @kitten I found out that my phone doesn't just do "flip to sshhh" but also "flip to dnd". I used to put my phone screen down, to not scratch the camera... i guess i'm not doing that when i expect a notification.

But yeah, sliders would be nice. Or more buttons.
"Prevent Ringing" settings screen on android. The "use prevent ringing" option is enabled. The choice below "Press Power and Volume Up together to" is set to "Vibrate", with "Mute" being another option. Above the settings is a very simplified phone with ringing symbol on it.

Pixel 6a with LineageOS here. If I turn the phone (screen down) it mutes all notifications. That might be an option too^^

mentions lewd @kitten I have a Fairphone 6 and have set the slider to toggle the flashlight, since I actually use that feature a lot! I really like having an actual slider for the flashlight.

I rarely get phone calls, and most notifications are muted. So I guess I'm not very often in this particular situation.

(Also, I guess I don't have sex very often... I'm somewhat ace I guess and don't care that much about sex).

re: mentions lewd @kitten honestly... my phone is permanently on vibrate cuz I hate the sounds. Then I just put it on a soft surface and it's inaudible lol
